The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Ali Hassan Joho has joined Tharaka Nithi  leaders in endorsing deputy president Kithure Kindiki for presidency in 2032.

Speaking in Tharaka Nithi over the weekend where he opened  state department for Aquaculture Research and Training Centre at Mutonga, Joho hit out at the critics of Kindiki accusing them of practicing divisive politics.

In a veiled attack, the CS accused the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of spearheading divisive politics, saying this was an enemy of development.

“We all have a home and tribe where we come from. I can also decide to speak for my people but what  is the benefit of inciting people and dividing a region because you belong there?" Posed Joho.

The former Mombasa governor also warned Kenyans against being divided to benefit certain leaders out to advance their own political interest.

“Why should one fight others or the government  just because you are no longer in it.  You all know I was in Azimio and we used to fight the Uhuru Kenyatta government but it came a time I realized it was not important.

This is why today I am here working with the government of the day regardless of my political affiliation,” said Joho.

He  added that people should accept that Kithure kindiki took over power as second in command and called on leaders to support him as he execute his mandate.

“Whether you like it or not, Kindiki is the deputy president. It is the high time those fighting him hiding under regional politics stop and support him,” he added.

Accompanied by County boss Muthomi Njuki MPs Kareke Mbiuki (Maara ), George Murugara (Tharaka ) and women Rep Susan Mwindu , the CS joined hands with the local politicians who endorsed Prof Kindiki for presidency after president William Ruto tenure expires.

“What is wrong with Kindiki becoming the DP? Infact I alsosupport him for presidency when that time comes  because we belong to one nation and any Kenyan can become the President. It does not matter the tribe or region you come from, we all belong to one country,” he said.

Ms Mwindu made the first shot that the marginalized  region will produce the first president after Ruto.

Backing her sentiments, Murugara called on the Gikuyu community to support Kindiki claiming he only replaced Gachagua because he failed to deliver.

“Gachagua  failed to execute his mandate. There is no need for bad blood because we all belong to GEMA community.”

“We have supported our neighbours to clinch to power for many years and it their time to reciprocate and not fighting each other,” said Murugara

CS Joho further announced that the  government  had distributed  fish feed worth Sh34.6 million to benefit over 5,000 fish farmers in Tharaka Nithi .

The CS said the government is ready to invest more to enhance fish production as part of Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
